The surrounding beauty of Northern Nevada’s Sierra Mountains and Lake Tahoe Basin is like an attractive magnet, drawing one in for a short but pleasurable vacation or, as in my case, a lifetime of opportunity. My early years were spent apprenticing in Commercial Design in Manhattan and Queens, NY (where I grew up). I later moved to Washoe Valley to start a small but increasingly successful business in Residential Design.
Over the past 25 years, I have had the opportunity of designing existing home additions (both large and small), as well as custom-built homes throughout Reno, Sparks, Carson City, Virginia Highlands, Gardnerville, and the Lake Tahoe areas. This often included subdivisions with Home Owners Associations:
I have always made an effort to carefully blend the “uniqueness” of homeowners’ ideas with a specific “site response” to their situation:
How will our weather with high desert winds and strong sunshine affect the location of a new deck or sunroom addition?
Is the property building envelope large enough to accommodate an addition to the existing home?
Can the Sierra Mountains or downtown City views be incorporated into the new home design?
